The test run of the larger floats is known as 'hoko hikihajime' (鉾曳き初め). Generally the 'hoko' (鉾) have wheels and the 'yama' (山) are either carried or pulled along on a trolley-like set up, but a few of the larger 'yama' are indistinguishable from the 'hoko'🤔😵‍💫 #Kyoto
