@North@chaos.social well my thought is that the mass and tip radius of the needle probably influence its travel so the response will be a complex interaction of the groove and tip geometry.
No idea if that affects the sound but it's something that comes to mind thinking about the mechanics

@North@chaos.social so like ideally you would do a physics model of the tip constrained on an arm above a rotating disk and then just use the xyz position every time step to calculate the audio signal going into the pickup
