@North@chaos.social you should be able to do the basics with s-parameters although that won't handle clipping and other non linear effects.
But I'm sure there's ways to model that

@North@chaos.social as far as actually collecting the scans, would you be doing full 3D scans or linear scans in the spiral groove coordinate frame? Would you be doing physics based modeling of groove-needle interactions?
