@farbel@mas.to He tried AND FAILED to unify GR with Maxwell’s equations. Because GR was wrong. The new theory has obvious intuitive advantages. Radio waves have to go SOMEWHERE, after all. Einstein simply avoided the issue. And the new theory predicts EXACTLY THE SAME Doppler shift. It merely does so by a mechanical means, rather than saying moving fast causes a new space-time reality to form. We are back in the realm of 19th century physics instead of 20th century metaphysics.
