@farbel@mas.to Einstein came up with Special Relativity around 1905 and 1907. He was celebrated for it and developed General Relativity from it. GR is, of course, mistaken because of that. In 1921, I believe, he was given a Nobel prize, for all of it, but ostensibly for photon theory, which also is disproven, since it is now shown that frequency is due to times of arrival of wavefronts at different relative speeds. So Einstein was no longer free to revisit this old problem. He had been ruined.
