No, of course not, but here's the real point: if someone asked Matt Blaze such a question, "Was there quid pro quo involved in your hiring?" I know exactly how he'd respond: like he'd been mortally insulted. He would not WANT people to know the truth and instead of addressing this very important point about whether he actually merits a teaching post instead of scamming his way into the job through "connections", he'd refuse to acknowledge it. I think this guy is a dunce. The sooner he trots off to BlueSky where he can feel safe from critical inquiry, the happier we'll ALL be.
