Over 15 years ago I visited Saint John, NB to get married to a man from there. At our wedding reception, he persuaded me to go to a private area with his criminal friends. They held me there for hours while they threatened & terrified me, insulted me, then pretended to befriend me.
They told me they wanted me to go to a secret location 'in the woods' & I could never leave.

2) I think I was targeted in advance because my fiancé was a weak man who was very much in awe of the leader of these men and tried to impress him. He'd previously been a drug mule for the leader, who had a grow op (illegal back then). Afterwards, I'd asked my partner why he'd set me up like that and he said 'I wanted to give you the choice'.
