@slotos@toot.community @4Dboy@mastodon.social @arrrg@kolektiva.social Value added tax (VAT) is a tax that addresses the difference in incoming and outgoing goods. But that has its own problems, in that even though it is payed by the companies, the effect is a a flat tax (and therefore regressive) on consumers. The most apparent tax issue in Sweden is not the divide individuals/companies but income from work/income from capital, which is adjacent but not the same as company taxation.

@ahltorp@mastodon.nu @4Dboy@mastodon.social @arrrg@kolektiva.social I too pay for things that are necessary for me to provide my services. How many jurisdictions will allow me to deduct the cost of a winter blanket from my income though? The nuances of modern tax systems tend to lose their flavor under human centric scrutiny. They tend to devolve to examples of looking for one’s keys under the lamppost, because it’s the only lit spot on the dark highway.
