@krutonium@social.treehouse.systems 100% go with Decky. (being close with at least some of the dev team, I know them well!) Whatever bad press you've seen is from users who can't follow instructions, or maybe are slightly more computer illiterate some. When Steam has an update, make sure you wait a few hours for the Decky update to release first! Install that, then update your Steam Deck...and that's it! I swear by Decky, the few plugins I use are so damned handy :)

    @flwwhtrbt@mastodon.social @krutonium@social.treehouse.systems To be fair, Decky definitely has a tendency to break occasionally. I had to reinstall it just a few weeks ago due to it showing a black screen I couldn't interact with or escape after it consistently failed to update itself for example. While it's the first time that I've had to actually reinstall it it has forced me to long press the power button to restart the Deck more times than I can count during the years I've used it. But it makes sense that it's not perfect all the time, considering what it does. It's no easy task keeping up with Steam updates/changes and they're doing it commendably.
