Also, I think I related to Kinger and Zooble best, which was interesting. I don’t always find masculine characters like Kinger as relatable, but seeing someone who is mentally ill and struggles, but is valued by friends and seen as a meaningful part of a community…fuck, that is me and it means a lot to see that. And Zooble because, yeah, queer dyke who is frustrated they can’t have sex and grumpy because this shit is fucked up. And just straight up checks out when they are fed up. And loves an anxious goof that has such a creative and genuine heart and mind. Very relatable.

  • The way they show Kinger…it’s the same reason Amanda Conner’s Harley Quinn is my favorite. We don’t have a lot of media depictions of people with mental illnesses being loved and valued for who they are, and their found family giving them care and support when they can’t care for themselves. It’s really moving and powerful to see.
