Also, Pomni’s choices and the way she embraces and brings care to Jax…it is probably one of the best depictions I’ve seen in media of what it’s really like to sit with someone as they go through a mental health crisis and trying to help them walk back from attempting suicide. The way that a person feels trapped, but also traps themselves, actively may try to push you away or close the door to leave them no other choice…what it’s like to be there as someone opens up about the darkest and most vulnerable parts of themselves and their lives…to choose to give someone care because they are a person and deserve care, regardless of anything else…and the way that it must be a group effort, that it can do secondary damage to us as helpers in those situations if we cross boundaries and take it on all by ourselves. Very moving and very real to my own experience as one often giving that care.
