@GrantMeStrength@hachyderm.io I've managed to catch one, 1999 IIRC. Woke up in France and then kept driving with overcast weather trying to find where there were gaps in the cloud cover. Spotted a hillside (now in Germany) where lots of people had gathered, some with large telescopes, and decided that they likely knew stuff we didn't. By luck or not, yeah, we had a gap in the clouds just as the eclipse was about to start until shortly after it ended. Worth every second.
