Kentucky Governor and Democratic moderate centrist Andy Beshear, along with Senator and Republican conservative Mitch McConnell, are good examples of why many people see the two parties as the same. We all know that Mitch McConnell is likely not well enough to perform his duties anymore, or, if reports are believed to be true, has passed away (is dead). Andy Beshear himself claims he has received reports of Mitch McConnell's passing (death). But the goal of the Republican party is to drag this out until August 2, 2026, to prevent a special election. Kentucky Governor and Democratic moderate centrist Andy Beshear could challenge this status quo right now and call for an election. There is nothing stopping him. But like all moderate centrists, all he is doing is pointing and saying, "See, see, look what they're doing," but without doing anything to stop them. Moderate centrists act more like Republican conservative publicists and commentators at a sporting event, expecting us all just to look and watch, but do nothing. People don't want to people-watch (or bird-watch) along with you. If knowing what they're doing or not knowing still gets us in the same place with the same results, there is no point in electing moderate centrists. You want real change and accountability?
