On the .desktop file, I don't think it can load .desktop files, but it can load an .exe with a specified version of wine or proton, going to the + at the top left, then add manually an already installed game, then selecting the runner to be wine, select the path to the .exe, then select the wine version at the runner options, then you can create a desktop file with lutris. If you changed /etc/hosts, it might be that, about the receiving info from the server on this: 002c:err:winediag:getaddrinfo Failed to resolve your host name IP 0024:fixme:ntdll:NtQuerySystemInformation info_class SYSTEM_PERFORMANCE_INFORMATION But the proton version might help as well (I didn't understand the problem specifically)

  • If you changed /etc/hosts, it might be that, about the receiving info from the server on this: I don’t want it to run a .desktop file. A .desktop file is just like a shortcut, you would probably run the game through lutris with a .desktop file and not the .desktop file through lutris. My problem was that AmongUs uses a file called AmongUsHelper.exe to log in. Once it opens itch.io in your browser and you allow it, it asks you to open an “amongus” link, In windows it does it with “AmongUsHelper” that’s why I am guessing it uses AmongUsHelper.exe. ‘Among us.exe’ works fine. The problem with running lutris through .desktop files when you need the browser tho is that the app just opens normally instead of like it holding any info from the website or something and idk how to make it do that.
