I'm having a big attack of 'leave my cool thing alone'. I think it's not quite gatekeeping, but when something you appreciate gets popular, it gets watered down and misunderstood and attacked. I've been doing quite a bit of defensive 'well actually' this week. Well at least a lot of classical scholars will be getting some publicity on their profiles, and booksellers should be doing a roaring trade.
