Sometime in the 1980s I was driving the old highway near St. Augustine Florida and saw a roadside tourist shop with a large mid-century neon sign reading "GIFTS - SOUVENIRS - REPTILE GOODS". I stopped, looked around, and asked the old lady at the counter, "What sort of 'reptile goods'?" She shook her head sadly and replied "They made us stop selling those years ago.". I wish I'd taken a photo of the sign. #Florida #ReptileGoods
