Today I had a lovely DIY success: using tools and guides from @iFixit@mastodon.social I successfully replaced the battery in a 4 year old OnePlus 9 Pro which was otherwise in perfect working order. My wife's phone was purchased at the same time and also needs a new battery so I'll do that one tomorrow. We will keep using these phones until the unfixed security vulnerability situation forces us to do something else, although that might be switching to @GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social . The guide said 'moderate' and predicted one hour for the repair, and that was accurate. The second one will take less time of course 😁 #DIY #RepairReuseRecycle
