@jonyoder@mstdn.social I've got a very strong feeling that layoffs that had the replacement of junior/trainee staff with AI in mind will become a disaster in 2-3 years for any company that tries this. I have a similar feeling that the layoffs at large hyper scaler outfits were not primarily to replace staff with AI but rather to gain the necessary liquidity to keep investing in the rampant data center expansion.

@maub@23.social I'm sure it will. When businesses that are heavily invested suddenly see a big jump in their AI costs, they'll realize their massive mistake. TBH, I think AI just demonstrates how many executives treat people with little value instead of their most important resource.
