If you have one of those little portable AC units (which is the usual option here in the UK), don't forget they do generate water. Instead of just letting that water drain away, capture it in a bucket and use it to refill your garden water butts. We've got plenty of water for the garden and don't need to use the hosepipe, handy now there's a hosepipe ban in place. I don't know, is this a solarpunk sort of thing? Or a life hack? It feels like good advice to share at any rate.

@vulgalour@birdbutt.com How much water does one of those machines collect over the course of a day? We don't currently have one.

@vulgalour@birdbutt.com Whenever the water butt is dry like it is now I collect the water from washing vegetables and use that to water the veg I'm growing. You don't realise how much water you use washing stuff for one salad until you collect it! As a bonus the plants get bits of lettuce and cabbage and whatnot which will just break down and feed the plants.
