then again, my laptop doesn’t have a gpu so battery life would probably plummet

@SeaDonut@tech.lgbt Whilst this is emulated, the original hardware did this on an 18MHz ARM CPU with no GPU to assist whilst running on 2x AA batteries for ~25 hours

@SeaDonut@tech.lgbt @Kroc@oldbytes.space Modern GPUs are power hogs. In terms of pure 2D graphics that doesn't apply convolving effects, a well optimized CPU implementation can easily outperform a GPU in terms of power consumption and performance.
