@ducky@mstdn.ca Epstein Barr virus is hard to avoid. I avoided it until I married, theb came down with it, followed by a viral labyrinthitis courtesy of its immunosuppressant effects.
A vaccine would be good, but hard to market because most people have minimal effects.

@DavidPenington@aus.social Well, people *do* get the HPV shot for a few different types of cancer (even with the ick factor of some parents that it's about SEX! SEX! SEX!). If you tell people that it will keep your kid from getting MS and a bunch of different cancers, and maybe also lupus, ALS, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and ME/CFS, they might let their kid get the shot.
