In Estonia, youth may gain the right to vote and run as candidates in elections to the European Parliament. Hopefully, the Estonian Parliament will approve amendments to the election law, so the age allowing voting will be lowered to 16 years old and the age allowing to become candidate to the European Parliament will be lowered to 18 years old. This change will be in line with the democratic spirit, especially now, as youth is politically and socially active, and very often brings good ideas.
