I am a happy relay.fedi.buzz user, but creating a separate relay subscription for every tag or instance I want to follow is mildly annoying. The silver lining is that fedi.buzz provides a firehose API endpoint that streams every activity it receives. So I decided to build a wrapper around that API that behaves like a relay with tag and instance filters. This lets me use a single relay subscription for all the topics and instances I want to follow. As a bonus, I am also exploring a DM-based interface so I can update the filters on the fly without using the web UI. If it works well, I may share the relay with others who are interested. For now, I am not planning to expose the full firehose until I work through a few details, but I may reconsider that in the future.
