Of the food borne illnesses in the news I wondered what happened to good old fashioned ptomaine poisoning. Why isn't anyone getting the dreaded ptomaine poisoning any more? Ptomaine is a generic term for decomposition products like cadaverine and putrescine, which are not particularly dangerous, it's the bacteria that makes people sick. Now I need to go look up Lumbago ...
