generation labels are fake and made up and divide us against each other and we should all refuse them, in general.
sometimes there are genuine differences that they're shorthands for, such as having grown up in a world where housing is a pleasant dream for other people and not a realistic aspiration to base your life around, but it's extremely worth the effort to identify those assumptions and talk about them explicitly, when you want to.

rationally, we should be more upset when we see these labels used to dismiss entire groups of people without engaging with the substance of whatever conflict is motivating it because that kind of blanket dismissal perpetuates injustice and becomes a habit that defines you, if you do it too much
