@Suzie97@indieweb.social i read Press Reset by Jason Schreier recently and it focuses solely on such layoffs and studio shutdowns, it's always the same stupid story man, they see these studios and its people as fungible instead of a collection of experienced talent and keep forcing dumb shit like live-service games on them even if their talents are completely different. Then close them down because it'll juice the EOY revenue charts by showing efficiency.
