For people discussing it, "contact" here is having one in your house or tent or if it touches, bites, scratches, or gets saliva on/in you - those things, not like being near a bat as it flys over outdoors, are what you need medical attention for. And if you have any doubt talk to a medical professional asap, they will have the most pertinent advice for your situation.
