@hugo@social.okeso.eu indeed, it's definitely traveling faster but also it goes hand in hand with better tooling and processes, including mass education. I think we were always overwhelmed because even "just" being in the forest to hunt or collect berries IS about filtering the noise to get the signal. So I don't think there ever was a period when we, humans, or in fact any organism, didn't have more information than they could process at ANY moment in the history of Life.
