@kumicota@akkoma.kumicota.moe @feld@friedcheese.us twilight zone has an episode where a ceo replaces everyone with robots and then the board wonders why they pay for a whole ass ceo and office and benefits for him and replace him. The more accurate scenario hitting many places like bio tech firms is they hit a death spiral where they can’t afford the kinda experts they need to be competitive and just end up churning lots of low rate grads and end up with too managers who can’t make the products they need to sell.

There's a problem where a lot of programmers/tech engineers ended up becoming managers due more out of the career than what he want to do. On a lot of older fields like Civil, Electrical, Mechanical... you can find Engineers getting paid more than their managers due expertise and experience but in tech, you rarely have a progression after Senior Programmer, so you have to become an white-collar worker to get a better pay and do something outside of what you want
