Federated Steam Alternative Idea is to have game authors host their own game store. It would handle related media, reviews, payment, updates etc. It could hook up to a central discovery place. It would use ActivityPub, so people could follow and it could follow other profiles, able to show related posts from the Fediverse. It could work with Drop OSS and ROMM. A bit like Castopod. Related to this would also be a Fedi project aimed at gamers, thus taken together replicating Steam's online part. There you go.
