There were more shenanigans before Oberhausen and we are now twenty minutes late. But we are skipping Köln Hbf and go via Deutz, which is good news: should make up about ten minutes and avoids the risk of getting stuck on the bridge twice.

ICE 211 picked up nine minutes of delay on its way from Frankfurt to Mannheim. Not quite enough for us. We wasted all the time we could have saved by going via Deutz by first waiting there for seven minutes and then another five in Siegburg and arrived in Mannheim three minutes after 211 had left. Looks promising for the transfer in Stuttgart, though.
