Fashion, ranging from designers and high-street brands to fast fashion, has moved away from emphasizing personal expression. Instead, many brands tend to imitate subcultures in a superficial manner without gaining a thorough understanding or consideration. They often replicate styles without establishing an authentic identity, leading to the adoption and discarding of trends based on surface-level appeal. This approach can be associated with a focus on immediate social validation and short-term gratification. Similar patterns can be observed in other areas of society as well. This trend only reflects a larger issues in living under a capitalist, consumerist, culture. So better dress second-hand, and ignore all trends, just create your own style, not fashion. Style.
