I can attest that those who stand with Israel do not "love their neighbours", and I'm not just talking about Israel's neighbours (whom they invade and occupy), I'm talking about the violent hate they show to the neighbours on their own block in Edmonton or elsewhere in Canada. This hatred does not belong in our city, yet those who speak up against it are accused of "sowing division" by the very same people who think they can threaten their own neighbours with deadly force and chase them around with a pickup truck yelling "motherfucking asshole!" at them just for being seen wearing a keffiyeh in public.
These are the people who are accusing Michael Janz of "creating danger for Jewish communities" by criticizing Israel. So let's set the record straight. The only communities being put in danger are the ones victimized by these violent Zionists when nobody dares to stand up to them, and nobody dares to speak up for the victims. This is not conjecture, this is lived experience. If you don't speak up against Zionism and genocide, and protect Arab and Muslim communities from Islamophobia and Arab-hate spread by Zionist propaganda, and protect the Jewish communiies who recieve Antisemitic attacks and are told they are "not real Jews" by Zionists for not supporting Israel, then our marginalized communities are put in danger. IN THEIR OWN NEIGHBOURHOODS WHERE THE LIVE AND RAISE CHILDREN. Not just in Gaza or West Bank or Southern Lebanon, but here in suburban EDMONTON. It is absolutely the job of a city councillor to protect marginalized communities in Edmonton and not allow them to be SILENCED by the status quo, with physical violence, verbal violence, corrupt authority, and influence and power.
