@CatherineBabault@mastodon.social one of the hardest wild animals to find, so secretive. Only time I got a real good look at one in the wild was in BC, Knight Inlet on a fishing trip. Traditionally we’ve had a very high density cougar population on the Olympic Peninsula, but I hear biologists are concerned now by low genetic diversity.

@GPJohnston@mastodon.social Do you know why they are less cougars on the Olympic Peninsula? Do people hunt them? They can hunt them here on Vancouver Island.
