@LunaDragofelis@void.lgbt I don't think "restoring from backup" is a good idea there. It's its own kind of existentially terrifying. Personally, given what we see in ep9, I think the abstracted cast are still some degree of sentient, even if their mind is jumbled. So it might be at least partially reversible with time and effort. Though it'd certainly leave scars. We don't really have confirmation that it's permanent. Caine seemed to think so, but he wasn't exactly a reliable source, given both his immaturity and him not exactly being the smartest.
