@mttaggart@infosec.exchange Actually, a minor detail.
In my test box, AI features were enabled. Disabling and re-enabling triggered the fake git.exe. But so did clicking the "Use AI Features button" and proceeding through GitHub auth.

When this happened, the same "GitHub Authentication" log that correlated with the VS Code events was suddenly available in Cursor.
