Having seen a reference to the Jargon File, I went & looked at it again. http://www.catb.org/~esr/jargon/ Why can't we have anything nice? The ESR update was super useful, nobody cared about most of the MIT TMRC stuff now, LISP was obscure, Unix won. Anyone today using a Lisp, even Medley, runs it on Unix (or Windows? Is someone so debased?) Early Internet & Unix needed documenting, & ESR stepped up, seemed fine at the time. He made an Intercal compiler! Then he turned into a frothing nutjob asshole.
