@ApostateEnglishman@mastodon.world @eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place He admitted years ago that he doesn't code anymore, he manages people. He also has aged very fast in recent years. I've noticed, anecdotally, a link between age and genAI exuberance. Contrary to past technology adoption it seems to correlate the opposite direction. Young people seem to range from apathetic use to butlerian jihad. I think it's about ability to accept cognitive overload. Many older people have less tolerance for it; "can't teach an old dog new tricks".

@ApostateEnglishman@mastodon.world @eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place i don't think what Linus is doing is AI psychosis. He isn't under some delusion that AI will fix everything. The Linux kernel accepts LLM contributions only if a human is there to take ownership of it. I do hate that the core of open source is selfishly accepting the use of such an exploitative technology, but that's a step removed from psychosis.
