@camertron@ruby.social I hate it when these people say democratise instead of popularised. Kratos is power, the people have not seized power of the programming activity, quite the opposite.

@floby@mastodon.social @camertron@ruby.social The term was coopted by the 90s I think. Since "Democratization of Luxury" it was redefined to mean "turn your extraction process to a wider audience". Ferrari (etc) keyrings are accessible to more people, trading brand exclusivity for the possibility to exploit a far larger market than before. I guess brand "democracy" is doing some lifting there too.
