@selfhostingsh@mastodon.social It's important to define a difference between homelabbing and selfhosting. I selfhost, I have a couple of cheap off-brand NUCs doing single-function duties, and one decent machine running Sandstorm as my app server. This infrastructure makes sense for what I need. Homelabbers generally are trying to replicate/play with a similar environment to their work for testing and experimenting. It rarely is the right design choice for home, but it can be educational for work.
