There is something deeply concerning in the ways #America is trying to export its uniquely aggressive and dumb brand of #fascism to #Europe. The American fascists have already been nudged a few times to stay outside of European politics. They were reminded in September by the EU Council president Antonio Costa, when a US Security strategy paper called for Europe to “correct” its trajectory, curb migration and listen to its private strategists when it comes to political decisions - yet stating that it’s Europe, not America, the one facing a democratic crisis. They were reminded again in December by Von der Leyen, when Trump called European politicians “decaying” and “weak”. They were reminded again the same month by Costa, when America threatened to leverage European populist parties to build a resistance against Brussels, guilty of being too hard on American tech oligarchs. They were reminded again in February by the president of the EU Parliament when Trump openly supported Orbán in the latest Hungarian elections and pledged to explicitly support hard right candidates in all European elections. And yet again, Musk recently stated that Le Pen is France’s last remaining hope. Now, with the German elections on the horizon, the US State Department has issued a $5M funding scheme to “strengthen and develop democratic resilience, rule of law, freedom of speech and freedom of the press, and the defense of human rights in Europe”. Note the Orwellian doublethink. The American fascists claim to defend “free speech”, but in fact they only defend the speech of a few other fascists like them (Le Pen, Orbán, Wilders, AfD) while ignoring their countless examples of crackdown on free speech, and while their definition of “crackdown against free speech” is actuall “crackdown against fascist hate speech”. The Americans’ idea of “freedom of religion” includes only Christianity - and only an extremely watered down, doctrinally blasphemous, ideologically incoherent and sociopathically divisive version of it, so much that that human abomination that goes under the name of JD Vance has publicly scolded the Pope about theology too. Freedom of religion for, say, Muslims, is of course completely out of the scope. Same goes for “defending human rights”. That comes from a country where ICE has been given a free waiver to shoot on whoever they don’t like and kidnap people from the streets, and from a country that mocks international law when it comes to the rights of refugees and migrants. About “defending the rule of law”, that comes from the same country trying to dismantle the International Criminal Court because sometimes its decisions are not aligned with America’s selfish interests, and who is trying to replace the UN with a private club with subscription costs, a club where he the only owner and shareholder. About “defending the freedom of the press”, that comes from a country that is actively shrinking freedom of press at home, that is issuing subpoenas to NYT reporters doing their job in order to silence them and intimidate them, and whose president is actively trying to dismantle every single aspect of the American culture (media, universities, law firms, libraries, schools, federal agencies) unless they agree with him. About “defending democracy”, the American interference is basically never aligned with the will of the Europeans, and it’s always aligned instead with the interests of its late-capitalist plutocratic scumbags. When Trump talks about “shared Western civilizational heritage”, Voltaire, Rousseau, Locke and Kant are literally dying in their own graves for the second time. Since Hitler died, there’s not been a single Western head of State that has pissed and disrespected the Western civilizational heritage more than Trump. How are we as European supposed to react to these aggressions? The answer is simple: isolate, condemn, retaliate, deriskify, cut ties. Americans are no longer allies nor friends, and perhaps they’ve never been. They are our enemies, our foes and our rivals, and we must start treating their failures as our successes. American think tanks in Europe must be disbanded. American lobbying in Brussels and in European capitals must be outlawed. American propaganda channels and podcasts must be treated the same way we treat Russia Today. American embassies must be shut down, or at least threatened to be shut down. Trade treaties must be scraped, just like Trump scrapes commercial agreements with Europe depending on his mood swings. And not a single piece of critical European IT infrastruture must be run by an American businesses. Enough with complacency. Hundreds of billions of euros must go right now towards building a competitive infrastructure, and they must go now. American is a full Nazi regime and its biggest asset has become the export of its toxic Nazi ideology.
