VersaBraille was an exception but even they were carryable. I owned the P2C and while I wouldn't call it small it had a nice carrying case, from what I remember. I never traveled with mine, though. Also, if you're interested in learning about vintage blindness tech, I recommend listening to some of the old magazines which were recorded on cassette, like Playback, Bitstream and Computer Folks.
