@DavidGoldfield@allovertheplace.ca @NicksWorld@mastodon.stickbear.me @bmoore123@tweesecake.social @mcourcel@allovertheplace.ca @mewproj@fwoof.space I loved Megadots when it first came out, but when I started proofreading I came to hate it, because it was always a step or two behind Duxbury, didn't translate as well, and didn't quite keep up with format rule changes. And when Window came into play, RDC was waaaaaaaaay out of their element. Right until the very end, MegaDots was a Dos program with a Windows interface, so while it was a Dos program, you had to run it from windows, and while the interface was Windows, it was pretty clear you were still running a Dos program. And there were lots of places where, if you read the manual, you were told that such-and-such a feature only ran on older computers, or if you were having difficulty with something, try using an older computer to see if that helps. The merger with Duxbury was the smartest thing they could have done.
