Something like YouTube's automated craptions I can kind of accept as the UI partially compensating for an authoring failure: the video author didn't provide captions, so here is our computer's best guess. Similar to an in-browser tool for getting image descriptions when a website doesn't have alt text.
But when the error-filled automated text shows up in bright colourful letters in the video itself that someone has posted to various services, that just shows they don't give a damn. They just know that people complain if it's not there. It's like alt text that just repeats the text of the post.
