It is equally clear here that the student was a woman and the instructor was a man! It seems that you can't really hide behind German as an excuse, can you? Or did I mistranslate this badly? (I'm a bit rusty in German.) Here is a little bit of a tip: if your grasp of a language is weak, perhaps you shouldn't comment on the clarity of speech of a native speaker of said language. It really isn't a good look. It's pretty much why I won't correct or criticize the grammar of French or Mandarin speakers because, well, my command of these is not strong enough to be certain.
