@mntmn@mastodon.social To me it is pretty clear that Linux is wildly successful mainly because of a lot of open source developers who are there because they perceive it as some kind of "social warrior" project, AND (to a lesser degree) because of companies who believe in the "*NOT*". Up to a few years ago, Linus was very good at keeping both those camps happy.
