We need words like boyfriend and girlfriend without girl and boy but other gender markers which do not refer to young folks. I don’t want to use „partner“ or „significant other“ but I want to state that I am in a relationship with a man without making him a boy. Manfriend just sounds wrong, so any ideas?

@jascha@ohai.social In Esperanto there is the expression "koramiko", which translates to "heartfriend" (male or genderneutral, while female would be "koramikino"; koro - heart, amiko - friend). Maybe some similar words could be developed in other languages as well?
