@LillyHerself@mastodon.social i know an alarming amount of people i've tried to get to move from chrome to firefox w\ ublock origin that refuse to because "i can just wait out the ads, it's no big deal" ...and then half the time they're watching/reading through some content is just dismissing or skipping ads :neocat_melt_sob_heart:

@LillyHerself@mastodon.social Believe it or not, I do much of my regular browsing in a virtual machine that has no ad blocker installed. I do it to see how the other half lives and what new fresh hell there is out there. It's shocking how many blogs and "news" sites out there are pushing countless ads, videos, pop-ups, etc, so much so that if you let them all load the page is still loading new content a minute or two later. It's almost like the people cramming the sites with this junk never actually try to visit their own sites.
