We are finding out that a lot of American politics are based on trust that the person elevated to the highest office in the land by the people isn’t a rapist and lifelong kleptomaniac. I suspect that there are probably a number of countries in the world who made the folly of expecting their leaders were, in the smallest sense, trustworthy.
