I got pretty raw with my BF tonight. I told him I was done sitting in the old stories of his hurt with him. That I am here ready to build a solid relationship, but I am going to walk away from his nightmares every single time. That I love him too much to continue validating that path like it makes any sense. And a whole bunch of stuff kind of like that. His response was pretty mucj "I hear you" (and also turned on), rather than anger or hurt. I even uninvited him to a wedding this weekend, and my only explanation was that we aren't vibing in a way that I want to distract my attention from the wedding. He didn't panic or get hurt feels. Expectations: they'll blow your mind once you grok how they work, and see them in action. 🤯🪄🦄
